William Penn Unveils Limited Edition Series from Sailor & Noblia in India

William Penn, India’s premier destination for premium writing instruments and lifestyle accessories, has introduced two expertly crafted limited edition fountain pens from Sailor and Noblia to India. The premium pens are in the price range of Rs 78,000 to Rs 1,95,000.

Sailor’s ‘Om Shri Ganeshay Namah’ edition combines the rich traditions and cultures of two ancient civilizations to deliver an exquisite writing experience. Kaga creative maki-e, a special lacquer art process, was used to express the vibrant colors on the pen without compromising the artistry and dignity of traditional maki-e (which literally means “scattered image” in Japanese).

The handcrafted ebonite pen features a 21k solid gold KOP nib and the limited-edition series includes only 108 pieces personally signed by Japanese artist and master craftsman, Isana Kobayashi.

Conceptualized in Hong Kong, Noblia’s latest series also pays homage to Lord Ganesha. The solid brass pens, decorated with images of the deity and inlaid Swarovski elements, have 24 carat gold-plated medium nibs. The pens are available in three variants – gold (23k gold plated), rose gold (23k rose gold plated) and silver (silver plated).

The luxury pen market, which controls 12 percent of India’s Rs 4,500 crore writing instruments industry, is accelerating and William Penn has seen an increase in the demand for high quality pens and has recorded a 20 percent increase in sales of luxury fountain pens above pre-pandemic numbers. This is a testament to the fact that in this digital age, fountain pens have retained their collectible allure, are a valuable gift option and many people see them as a wonderful way to escape the pressures of the online world.

Nikhil Ranjan, MD, William Penn said: “The top luxury pen brands around the world are eager to partner with William Penn to cater to the Indian clientele. Since Sailor debuted in India in 2008, we have worked closely with the brand to create distinctive writing instruments. Likewise, Noblia has been one of the key players that have shaped the fine writing instrument industry in the country.
