The wall decor category is booming in 2022. In every market to date, wall decor sellers have unveiled more collections, collaborations, and introductions than ever before in direct response to the demand for more wall art. Consumers eager to spruce up their homes in the early days of the pandemic remain eager to fill their wall space, an area ripe for self-expression. Will the order continue until 2023? And what trends can we expect to see on walls in the coming year?

Our lifestyles have changed dramatically since 2020, and we continue to see the effects of that. People work from home for the long term and set up permanent offices in their homes. Many people also move in order to have a better quality of life, and with that comes the desire to update the decor in their new homes for a fresh start.

People have government stimulus money to spend from 2021 and 2022, added Gabe Cohen, vice president of marketing at Classy Art. “I think the category grew when people started spending a lot more time indoors when the pandemic started. People want to enjoy the space where they spend a lot of time.” the time “.

Karen Schweitzer, Vice President of Creative and Operations for Level57, provided another reason why wall art is so important to consumers. “Art is the best expression of yourself in your home. It creates the story and sets the mood for your interior. It adds life and brings a unique element to the design.”

What drives the business

“Bright, colorful and oversized, abstract art continues to dominate our work,” said Rudy.

Meanwhile, Level 57 is confident it will reinvigorate the framed printing market. “We offer a curated collection of exclusive artwork from both emerging and established artists from around the world and constantly bring together fresh inspiration and fresh perspectives on design, trends and art to inspire both our artists and clients,” said Schweitzer.

Cohen believes Classy Art’s products retail faster than competitors’ products. “This is because of our own way of product development and consumer engagement on social media during selection processes. Basically, by letting consumers vote on what product to release, we bring to market the products they want rather than guesswork like most manufacturers.”

Paragon’s e-commerce business remains significant, but the interior designer market is a growing part of its business. “We’re able to ship part of our line in 10 business days, which is a plus. The hospitality/healthcare segment of our business is also growing,” Knowles said.

The sellers had varying opinions about what was popular in wall art.

Schweitzer pointed out one specific idea. “It’s about surrounding ourselves with the things we love and people we can share it with.”

Cohen believes mid-century inspired designs, geometric shapes, triptychs, high textures, and farm animals will be trending.

It is a private information for Paragon customers. “In our studio and craft departments, we are able to provide more customized products than you would get with an imported product line,” Knowles said.

“Neutral tones that evoke a sense of cool and tech-inspired neon color palettes will be trending,” said Rudy, while Leftbank Art’s Ochoa predicted, “Neutral textures will continue to lead the trend story, along with curves, arches, and clean, traditional looks.”
