Veronica Stern, Willem Butler and more to lead the 2022-2023 season of ANASTASIA’s North American tour

Casting has been announced for the next season of the North American tour of the Broadway production of ANASTASIA. This company will begin performing on August 23, 2022, during the second week of a two-week engagement at the Citizens Bank Opera House in Boston, MA.

Veronica Stern, one of BroadwayWorld’s “People to Watch in 2022,” will lead the cast as Anya. The cast will also include Willem Butler as Dmitry, Ben Edquist as Gleb, Gerri Weagraff as Empress Dowager, Bryan Seastrom as Vlad, Madeline Raube as Countess Lily, and Leela Chopra and Alexandrya Salazar as Little Anastasia. The ensemble includes Thalia Atallah, Lance Timothy Barker, Zachary Bigelow, William Aaron Bishop, Louis Brogna, Amin Fuson, Rebecca Hartman, Kaitlyn Jackson, Brooklyn Libao, Alec Lloyd, Victoria Madden, Billy McGavin, Lathan A. Roberts, Amy Smith, Sarah Statler, Lauren Teyke, and Aidan Ziegler-Hansen.

ANASTASIA will travel to more than 50 cities next season, including Chicago, Indianapolis, Birmingham, Atlanta and Cincinnati, with additional cities to be announced. The full path is updated in Anastasia’s website.


ANASTASIA presents a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new Tony Award score.® -Winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics), and tour direction by Sarah Hartman based on the original Tony Award directing®-winning director Darko Tresnjak.

This dazzling spectacle transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of 1920s Paris, as a brave young woman sets out to unravel the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Ella Anya enlists the help of a handsome con man and a lovable former aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find a home, love and family.

ANASTASIA began her Broadway performances in March 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre.

The show played to sold-out audiences on Broadway for over 3 years before expanding its global “Fanastasia” community with touring productions throughout North America and Japan, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. Globally, the show has been performed more than 2,500 times and has sold 3.4 million tickets. Additionally, the show has garnered over 15 major international awards, including Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards and Best New Musical in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording has been streamed over 150 million times and is available on, and iTunes. The 75-minute album includes the Academy Award.®-nominated for favorite “Journey to the Past” along with new numbers from the show like “In My Dreams”, “Still” and “My Petersburg”.
