Pricing at Walmart is a key component of the retailer’s popularity. However, when it comes to bedding, the low price is not worth it, according to Rousseau Vestalformer Walmart teller and founder of Find The Aisle.

Jen Starkfounder of gardening and home improvement blog Happy DIY Home agrees that Walmart sheets and sheets aren’t a big investment.
“Ideally, a set of sheets should last more than a year or two, even if you wear them every night and wash them two or three times a month,” she explains. “Walmart sheets tend to wear out and fray with normal use, and that makes you go back to buying another set much sooner than you’d like.”

Thread count might not be the first thing you look for in a label, but it’s actually more important than you think. Unfortunately, sheets and sheets sold at Walmart also don’t have an ideal thread count, which should range between 300 and 500, according to Stark.
“Many low-cost sheet sets at Walmart (under $30) are without the thread count, and that means they are usually under 300,” says Stark.

Mattresses, bedding and upholstered furniture are the most common items that cause deaths in house fires, according to a blog post written by Johnson-Arbor. As such, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has fire safety standards to reduce the spread of mattress fires.
“Some foam mattresses (including at least one I found for sale on the Walmart website) contain fiberglass as a fire retardant to suit [these] federal regulations,” she says. Better life.
In addition to irritating the skin, eyes, and lungs, fiberglass can also “cause skin rashes, lung disease (after prolonged exposure), and even eye scarring if the fibers enter the eye!” Johnson-Arbor says. You may come in contact with fiber specifically when handling mattress covers, as the certification that mattresses are free of harmful components only applies to mattress foam.
