20. Barneys’ Chelsea Passage
On the ninth floor of Barneys, connecting the lunch spot Fred’s to the Home section of the department store, is Chelsea Passage, so named after the hallway connecting the two buildings of the store in its original Chelsea location. Years ago, the wife of store owner Barney Pressman outfitted this hallway with household items from her own collection. Now it is a revolving door with installations by the likes of Muriel Brandolini, Madeline Weinrib, Arteriors and, most recently, Tom Dixon.
