Descriptive text provided by the architects. Located within a farm in the Campinas region, the building called SPA was an existing construction. The original project, in which we participated, dates back to 2005 and needed some interventions.
We were initially going to revitalize the barbecue area and porch, however when we visited the site we realized that there was huge potential for a general update and therefore we presented a project to the clients that incorporated several updates, practically revitalizing The whole building.
In the quincho (gourmet space) an attempt was made to create a contemporary environment, but one that reminded one of the old farmhouses, through the use of baked red cement on the walls and part of the cladding. In addition to the wood and braided straw siding, the entire floor was replaced and the woodwork restored. In the rest of the balcony, we changed the floors and the cladding, the latter made of braided straw with a well-closed and homogeneous weave, while being elegant and welcoming.
Internally, we carried out some specific interventions in the bedroom area: we revitalized the floors and reformulated the existing skylights in the gallery. For this, two masonry blocks were created that support the works of art and allow a physical and visual expansion in the bathrooms of the suites, creating a space of natural lighting and ventilation.
In the social area, customers found the small home theater and dining room to be cold and unwelcoming. Thus, our proposal was to move the TV shelf towards the hall, expanding the internal space, hence the idea of the vertical slat that delimits the space of the hall and hides the side of the shelf, at the same time we removed the doors that They closed the environment and integrated the house with the rest of the room.
In the living room, the large bookcase full of holes stands out, all in wood, which provides a division of the environments, but without losing the physical and visual integration of the spaces. The closed niches are mobile, which allows a change in composition, and allows for different combinations.
In all the rooms the furniture has been updated, and some elements such as the beds, the sideboards in the bedrooms, the bookcase in the living room and the bar in the barbecue have the design signed by us.
