Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Return to California After Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally returned to California this week after the death of Queen Elizabeth extended his visit abroad.

The royal couple flew home from the UK on Tuesday after the mourning period and a day after attending the late monarch’s funeral. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Europe at the time of their death, as they were on a scheduled trip abroad to attend various events in support of the charities they work with, including the One Young World Summit and the flagship. the celebrations of the Invictus Games that will take place in Düsseldorf next year. So when the queen suddenly fell ill, Harry managed to run out of Scotland to be with the rest of his family. He and Meghan stayed until Monday to attend the state funeral and engagement service ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s private burial. In preparation for the funeral, the Sussexes also attended various events in memory of the monarch. On September 10th, they joined Prince William and Kate Middleton in greeting, mourners and well-wishers gathered outside Windsor Castle to share their memories of the late royal.

In his first statement about his grandmother posted on the Archewell website after her passing, Harry highlighted the Queen’s commitment to serving the United Kingdom, writing: “In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen – and mourning her loss – we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in their commitment to service and duty. She was globally admired and respected. Her unwavering grace and dignity remained true throughout her life and now her eternal legacy.” He also added in a personal note: “Grandma, although this final farewell brings us great sadness, I am eternally grateful for all our first encounters – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander. Boss, from the first moment you met my dear wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren. I cherish these moments shared with you and the many other special moments between them. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the whole world.” Harry concluded: “Thank you for your commitment to service. Thanks for your sound advice. Thank you for your contagious smile. We also smile knowing that you and grandpa are reunited now, and both together in peace.”

During this long journey, Harry and Meghan left their two 3-year-old children. Archie and 1 year lilibetback home in Montecito with the Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland. The duo has lived in the upscale California neighborhood that has been popular with celebrities since 2020, when they officially stepped down from their positions as senior royals.
