“Ms. Mollie McGee was a woman who traveled a lot and spent most of her life in hotels, as she was a big part of her family’s business,” said Shalu Holman, Engel & Völkers’ recording agent. “When she decided to build her first home in Huntsville, she wanted it to be a mix of different styles.”

Ms. Holman added that Ms. McGee and her family were very influential in the development of downtown Huntsville, so she likely worked with eminent designers and architects to assist her in the design process. “To me the house looks like a small boutique hotel where family and friends stay with him,” said Ms. Holman. “He was used to living in luxury, but was also famous for entertaining guests, holding church fundraisers, and hosting parties and casual lunches at his home for friends and family.”
