Brad Priest is the prime example of taking life’s tragedy and turning it into something beautiful.

Priest, originally from Milwaukee, moved to Chicago at the early age of 16 to begin a 20-year career as a singer/dancer in theme park shows. This career has led to performances in hotel resort shows, national tours, and numerous commercials.

In March 2000, Priest entered into a fulfilling, exciting, adventurous, and loving relationship with Jonathan Toft. In 2008, the duo found Garber’s Interior Design and it became a successful design and retail business. In 2016 Priest and Taft got married.

In March of 2021, Tuft passed away unexpectedly, which eventually led to Garber’s Interior Design closing in April of 2022. “Life was definitely a challenge after losing my husband and the other half of the Garber Boys (the name he coined home accents today years ago). Jonathan and I have always dreamed of opening a smaller, more intimate gift and home décor store, something we both could relate to as we moved into our senior years,” said the pastor.

The J&B Home Décor & Gifts store has its grand opening September 9 in Elkhart, Ind. The store features 1,725 square feet of specialty home decor, signature furniture, gourmet food, and unique and special gifts. “At the age of 59, and with Jonathan in my heart, I would like to present to you all… J&B Home Décor & Gifts,” said the pastor.

The store will continue to offer the brands, styles, and products its customers have loved since 2008. “I will continue the rule of not reordering an item, which means the selection of pieces will always change,” Priest said. . Pastor will continue to rely on the brands, vendors, and actors who have always supported the two, but as he expands into the gift category, he’ll be looking for the next best unique and special items he can’t resist at the Las Vegas market this January.

J & B Home Décor & Gifts is not just a place to shop. It introduces the community, who supported, encouraged, and lifted Priest through Taft’s tragic loss as he continues his journey with J&B Home Décor & Gifts. “J&B will continue our love of charities (especially the Humane Society of Elkhart County), supporting independent and locally owned businesses and reminding people to stop, smile, say please and thank you, and always remember… wear good shoes!”
