ODA Unveils Residential Tower on Billionaire Row in New York City
Construction has begun at 126 East 57e street, a project designed by architectural firm ODA, with interiors designed by Gambellini Sheppard. at 57e On the street, a copper mirrored gate leads residents through the 6-storey atrium and to the 28-storey residential tower. The site spans the width of a 56 . city blocke up to 57e street and the proposed tower measures 175,000 square feet, complete with private outdoor patios for each unit, as the gritty, cast-in-place concrete facade pops out at irregular intervals.
The geometry of the site allowed ODA to create multiple amenities for the residents. The ecosystem is based on a network of interconnected and intimate spaces scattered throughout the building, allowing residents to experience a variety of spaces for relaxation and exploration. The aim of this system is to promote a sense of community in the building and to enrich the experience of the residents.
The amenities package is planned to start on the two sub-levels, which include a gym, sports court, indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms. The second floor contains an intimate private lounge and kitchen, providing residents with an alternative study or work space, connected to the courtyard. The outdoor areas include a children’s playground, a communal greenhouse and an open-air amphitheater overlooking the main entrance. The upper floors accommodate cozy and entertaining spaces, such as the banquet hall with a prepared kitchen or the large covered terrace with a bar and private cabanas.

The architectural firm has also unveiled the design for a Duo of Residential Towers in Fort Lauderdale, USA, and for “Era”, Manhattan’s largest residential cantilevered building.
