This luxury recording studio-turned-mansion where Sir Elton John recorded Candle in the Wind as a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, has been put up for sale for £1.9 million pounds.
The former Virgin recording studios, aptly named ‘Townhouse Studios’, had been created in 1978 by Richard Branson for his Virgin record label. Before that, the building was the Goldhawk Film Studios.

An emotional Sir Elton John had played Candle In The Wind at Princess Diana’s funeral.
The pair were good friends before her death in 1997 and Elton John said Diana was not open with her friends and had been “fairy light” with them.
He told VH1 RocDoc “Me, Myself and I,” “I think she ended up trusting the wrong people with Diana.
“She didn’t trust the people she should have trusted, her real friends.
“I always thought that the people who really felt for her and were really loyal to her were just a bit of a light-hearted fairy in the end.”
Sir Elton, who related how he learned of Diana’s death through a fax from a friend offering condolences the following morning, became emotional as he viewed footage of the funeral.
