Lululemon SenseKnit Running One-Piece I Editor Review

Hi! Marathon runner in training here. As someone who has *quite* a long way to go before I take off on the Staten Island Bridge during the 2022 New York City Marathon, I’ve been quite generous in treating myself to special activewear as a little motivator, if you will. . One of my favorite things to buy are one-piece styles, which not only make it easy to prep for a workout, but also won’t distract you from riding up or rolling down while you’re working out. . That said, I was on a mission to find the most comfortable and functional marathon training option. My search led me to Lululemon’s new arrivals page and the SenseKnit Running One-Piece ($198), which in theory ticked all my boxes. The website marketed it as tight and contoured, but breathable, sweat-wicking and long, with eight-inch shorts. I was sold on every detail, so I decided to take the plunge and add my usual size six to the cart. Check out my full review below.

What I love about this running onesie

Initially my only hesitation in adding it to my cart was that this onesie looks like legitimate, like something a professional runner would slip into for a race worthy of the evening news. As someone who barely enters at a speed of less than nine minutes per mile, I was afraid I would look and feel like an impostor in this. But once I put it on, my fears were dispelled. I knew I would like that live in it, let alone just run it. It really feels like a second skin thanks to the ultra-stretchy combination of 75 percent nylon and 25 percent elastane. And when I’m running in it, the sleek, compressive material stays in place and keeps me focused, so I don’t have to mess with it while running like I sometimes do with leggings.

Another thing I love is the long length of this one-piece. I tend to go for leggings instead of running shorts because I hate the feeling of my legs rubbing together. But this length is just above my knee, so I can save my long running tights for the fall and winter.

What is worth mentioning

My only complaint about this onesie is that none of the pockets are really ideal for storing a phone. It has a large pocket on the back, gel pockets on the chest and a hidden pocket on the front of the waist, all super handy for small items like my ID, energy gels and keys. Other than that, I have a feeling you’ll be obsessed too. After all, the reviews on Lululemon’s section are similar to mine. One person who bought a size 10 said, “I’ve tried pretty much every bodysuit that Lululemon has put out over the years. This is by far the best for my body type.

“I usually have bust problems because I have a bigger chest for my height, but it’s perfect to be able to leave the chest open.”

Who is this running onesie best for?

This one-piece running piece is a must for runners of all skill levels. I regret being hesitant to buy it at all because – not to sound corny – I look and feel stronger. And since running is such a mental sport, I believe it has helped me maintain a fast pace. Now I only need a second one as I have washed and worn it repeatedly.

  • This one piece piece is available in sizes 0-20.
  • This one-piece running piece is available in black and a purple color called ‘Charged Indigo’.
  • To keep it in optimum shape, machine wash in cold water and tumble dry on a low setting.
  • The brand’s SenseKnit fabric is also available in other silhouettes, such as the SenseKnit Running Tank Top ($54, originally $78) and the SenseKnit Running High-Rise Short 10″ ($108).
