She said, “Professional designer here – how to make your space look taller and more expensive when you’re renting and on a budget.”
Tyka said, “Now I’m not a fan of DIY projects. I feel like everyone makes them look so easy on the web and they never are, but these are pretty fail-proof.”
Tyka said she loves peel-and-stick wall panels.
She said, “Peel and stick wall panels. They actually go up pretty easily and you can find them on Amazon. You can find them on Wayfair.”

She continued, “They’re just a quick and easy way to transform a boring apartment wall and turn it into a space that has a little more character and makes it feel fancier, which gives us some interest.”
Next, Tyka said plug-in wall sconces.
She said, “Plug-in wall sconces are my favorite thing to add to any tenant space. There are so many different styles. There are super modern, more classic ones.”
She continued: “I use these all the time. These just look as luxurious to me as something you’d find in a real high-end hotel.
Finally, Tyka said peel and stick mirrors are a great way to make your home look bigger.
Tyka said, “This last one feels more like a hack because it gives the illusion that your space is much bigger than it is. It makes your apartment double the size.”
She continued, “Peel and stick mirror wall tiles. You can mirror an entire wall of your apartment for less than $100 [£84].”
The interior designer added, “You can get them spray painted gold with a cheap spray can, put a command strip on them and then you can create this whole mirrored wall moment that reflects more light.”
She concluded, “It makes your space look bigger and it can look really high-end if you do it right.”
Tyka’s interior design tips video has been viewed more than 435,000 times.
