Funtown hints at the return of the haunted house in 2023

In terms of amusement parks, the voice of fans has never sounded more powerful than it is today. After Story Land launched their adult-only nostalgic nights, over 21 nights, fans of Funtown / Splashtown USA in Saco, Maine wondered aloud if the famous park would do something similar. After working out some logistics, Funtown listened and launched their first adult-only night this summer with great success. But there is one more specific thing that Funtown fans have not been able to let go of and that Funtown may just be listening to.

Shared on Facebook by Funtown Splashtown USA, the park directed people to a banner that popped up outside the Fun Factory Arcade inside the park. If you can’t quite understand what the sign says, it says: “SOME BAD FUN IS COMING HERE IN 2023”. In the background behind the sign are menacing looking trees, the kind of trees you might find outside a haunted mansion.

While nothing is confirmed, it looks like something with a scary theme is coming to Funtown Splashtown in 2023. While it could be something broader, like turning the park into a haunted walk in the fall, it seems more likely that Funtown is hinting at the return of the his beloved Haunted Mansion.

If you have been left in the dark, the Haunted Mansion has remained one of the most talked about attractions in Funtown despite the fact that it was never technically even part of Funtown. Instead, the Haunted Mansion belonged to Cascade Water Park which would later become Splashtown. The Haunted Mansion was extremely popular during its 10 years from 1986 to 1996 before being closed as a “high-risk attraction”.
