CARY, NC–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cornerstone Building Brands, North America’s largest manufacturer of outdoor construction products, today announced that country music star Tyler Hubbard has been named an ambassador for the Home for Good project, joining the company to raise awareness of the growing need for safe and affordable housing products.
Since it began in 2016, the Home for Good project has provided more than $2.8 million in exterior construction products such as windows, cladding and fixtures to build or renovate more than 600 Habitat for Humanity homes in more than 90 communities. Universal Music Group Nashville has been a partner in this critical work since the show’s launch, with Hubbard replacing five-time presenter of the year Luke Bryan as ambassador.
“I am grateful to be a part of Cornerstone Building Brands’ Home for Good project and for the opportunity to help raise awareness of the shortage of affordable housing in our communities,” said Hubbard, who will donate his time to the project. “Owning an owner improves the quality of life for so many families and children, so I am happy to help in any way I can to ensure that more families have a place to call home.”
Research shows that home ownership leads to higher graduation rates, better health and growth in net household wealth that creates a path out of poverty.1 Rising housing costs and record housing shortages have worsened the affordable housing crisis over the past two years. Rising housing costs have led to a substantial increase in housing cost burdens for the first time in 10 years. In 2020, 30% of all households had “unaffordable” rent or mortgage payments, defined as greater than 30% of monthly household income, up 1.5% from 2019. Additionally, the US now has a deficit of 3.8 million homes, with the greatest shortage of supply at low-income prices.two
“Cornerstone Building Brands is committed to improving the communities where we live, work and play. Access to affordable housing is an important component of a strong community. We are proud to donate outdoor products that help make Habitat for Humanity homes beautiful and resilient while maintaining affordability,” said Rose Lee, president and CEO of Cornerstone Building Brands, whose portfolio of leading brands includes Simonton Windows, Ply Gem Windows, Mastic Siding and Accessories and American Building Components metal roofing. “We are excited to partner with Tyler Hubbard to spread the word about the incredible and growing need for affordable housing.”
This year, Cornerstone Building Brands continues to support Habitat Strong by helping local Habitat organizations in disaster-prone areas build homes with extreme weather products that are more resilient to natural disasters. Cornerstone Building Brands manufactures an extensive range of fortified outdoor products, including impact windows, metal roofing and cladding.
