Austen Kroll’s New Charleston House: Decor, Pricing Details

In June 2021, Austen Kroll announced that he had bought himself a very special “birthday gift”: a beautiful house in Charleston. as the Southern charm cast member told last month that he knew “immediately” the house was the perfect choice for him.

“I’m like an impulsive shopper. I don’t like to go in and try a lot of things. It was pretty much the same with my house,” Austen said. The house, built in 2016, was “basically a turnkey home,” he added. “There were all the devices in there.”

Because the house is located in what Austen described as “a developing area in Charleston,” he noted, “I got it for a great price, and I love it…If you put that house in a different area in Charleston, “I mean, it would easily be double or triple the price.”

The house has three bathrooms, four bedrooms (one of which is used as Austen’s office), a “very open” first floor and another detail that Austen is particularly enthusiastic about: “I am a relatively tall man, [so] I really like the 10 meter high ceilings.”

Austen has been hard at work decorating the home for over a year. “I’ve made so much progress with a light fixture here, a chandelier here,” he said. “[But] I ordered a sofa in October, and we’re talking in July, and it hasn’t arrived yet. That’s so annoying. It feels like my living room isn’t finished yet.” Although the sofa has arrived according to recent Instagram Stories, Austen now has other areas to focus on. “I haven’t completed my third bedroom upstairs yet,” he said. “So there are just things I’m excited about getting started. But I painted it, and did some fun things here and there. It’s progressing slowly, but I haven’t had a chance to spend a full amount of time finishing my house.”

With his current furniture and decor choices, Austen admitted that the house is “very bachelor-esque. Let’s say whether I had a wife in the house, or someone in the house who lived with me, [they] would probably be like, ‘We’re going to change some of these things here.'” The feel of the house, he said, strikes a balance between “trying to be sophisticated” and “still having fun”. -a-half foot high fridge stocked with Trop Hop” in the hall.

“So when you come in and it’s like, ‘Do you have anything to drink?’ It’s like, “How much Trop Hop can you drink until you pass out?” he joked. “So it’s always there. Open it and grab a Trop Hop, if you like. I think that’s the atmosphere of my house.”

Laughing, he added, “Maybe one day I’ll bring a kegerator. Who’s to say?’
