It’s not just the fashion industry that follows trends. Events operate in similar cycles, fluctuating between what’s hot and what’s not. Balloon bows? Goodbye. Photo booths are also out. And theme nights can deviate. As the world slowly begins to return to some semblance of normality, party trends are beginning to emerge for 2023.
Garden Party Girls is constantly considering new approaches to elevate events. Every year we see the rise and fall of new event concepts, and this year we have already identified the hottest event hosting trends for 2023. To help you WOW visitors, we We’ve picked out some of our favorite predictions for what’s going to be popular in the coming year. Keep an eye on:
Instagrammable installations: Balloon arches are out! Creating a space that uses bright colors, textures and/or flowers, where guests can take selfies, is trending. In 2023, we will see greater enthusiasm for dynamic and interactive immersive experiences with Instagrammable installations that put guests at the heart of the event.
TikTok compatible tablescapes: Achieving that WOW factor will be a MUST in 2023. That means adding textures and layers to your table, not being afraid of color, adding fresh flowers and spreading your food on the table.
Divine Drinks Menus: Don’t pass the punch. Organized cocktails and mocktails are all the rage. These should also be prepared with the Gram in mind.
Butter boards: These become extensions or even improvements over traditional charcuterie boards. Don’t be surprised if you’re presented with a cutting board with thick butter and stuffed with all sorts of stuff. Butter boards are undoubtedly trending on social media and at social gatherings throughout the upcoming holiday and New Year’s Eve season.
Disposable cameras are making a comeback: The photo booths are out! What was once old is new again and disposable cameras will be all the rage from birthday parties to weddings. We find that partygoers want to capture authentic and true memories leading into the New Year.
Sustainable restoration: This means using locally sourced ingredients, working with ethical suppliers and reducing waste. More and more catering companies are going green, using locally sourced ingredients to reduce their carbon footprint. They also work with ethical suppliers who care about the environment.
We can’t wait to see what other trends transpire next year. As mentioned, the event planning space is constantly evolving, so there are sure to be other new and exciting trends to watch.
