These remote workers can no longer commute to a community locker when they need new office supplies. Instead, they must stock the goods themselves.

To save money, shoppers may want to head to Dollar Tree, where they’ll find lots of great stationery at affordable prices. Here are 10 useful office supplies you can find at Dollar Tree for less than you can find at other retailers.

Staple Removers

“One of the things you don’t know you need until you really need it is a staple remover,” said TopCashback.com consumer expert Rebecca Gramuglia. “These save you time while ensuring the paper doesn’t chip, tear, or bend as you use it. And if you’re looking for an inexpensive option, Dollar Tree has a 2-pack of staple remover for $1.25. Amazon sells 2-packs for $5.20, so shopping at the dollar store helps you save a few bucks.”

lashing clips

“The versatility of fastener clips makes them a necessity in any office space,” said Gramuglia. “Dollar Tree offers 8 larger clips for $1.25 (about 15 cents each), while Staples offers 12 same-size clips for $11.99 (about $1 each). It will save you a lot of money.”

Security Envelopes

“If you’re sending sensitive information in an envelope, it’s a good idea to invest in one with the security pattern printed on it,” Gramuglia said. “Dollar Tree sells 80 number 6 security envelopes for $1.25. Considering that Walmart is selling the same item for $8.06, this is a great bargain.

Label Note Flags

“You may want to go for the lower-priced option, especially when it comes to more disposables,” Gramuglia said. “500 of these pagination flags go for $1.25 at Dollar Tree, and a similar 500-number pack at Office Depot goes for $7.99.”

Correction Fluid (White-Out)

“Another example of office supplies that you can choose to buy cheap and don’t know you need until you really need them,” Gramuglia said. “To save approximately $1.75, choose to purchase Bic correction fluid, which is available at Staples for $2.99, for $1.25 from Dollar Tree.”

Punch

“Whether for business or arts and crafts, a puncher can come in handy,” Gramuglia said. “To save about $3, choose to buy one from Dollar Tree for $1.25 rather than Amazon’s $4.11 version.”

Straw Pencil Holders

“These are very useful for organizing writing instruments, scissors, letter openers and more, keeping them off your desk and cluttering your workspace,” said Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst at DealNews.com. “Although you can find these in many other stores, there’s a good chance they’ll cost much more than $1.25 each.

“If you don’t need a full desk organizer kit, you can skip the more expensive alternatives and get a few of these to keep your stuff organized. They’re also available in jumbo sizes for the same price.”

Indeed, these cost much more in other stores. For example, on Amazon, almost the same product retails for $4.22.

Sharpie Permanent Markers

“Other stores may have better prices for multipacks, but sometimes you just need a Sharpie for what you’re planning – and at Dollar Tree for $1.25 each ultrafine tips, fine tip black markers and fine tip blue “If you rarely use a Sharpie and only need it one time, you can’t beat that price and you don’t have to worry about extras that don’t clutter up drawers and desks.”

Inspirational Diaries

“These come in a variety of styles, with 120 pages each and an elastic closure and some statement on the front,” Ramhold said. “Although they’re called inspirational diaries, some phrases on the front like ‘Notes’ and ‘Diary’ are pretty simple, while others say things like ‘Finish Things’ and ‘Be Brave’.

“Regardless, these notebooks are good for hanging around taking notes, whether you’re at meetings or living out your day.”

Inspirational diaries on Amazon run up to $20.

Letter Baskets

“If you’re one of those people who often has pages lying around, it’s worth getting mail baskets to organize those items and track things like mail until you get to them,” Ramhold says.

Some letter baskets on Amazon are about $7 and don’t look decorative.
